Privacy Policy — Teleprompter Deck

Last updated: 20 September 2026

This policy covers the Android app "Teleprompter Deck", package com.mysecondwish.teleprompterdeck.

The short version

Your scripts and recordings stay on your phone. There is no account, no server of ours, and nothing about you is sent to us. We cannot read your scripts, because we never receive them.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below is stored on your device only:

ran

Your video and audio takes are saved to your device's own gallery, in the same place as everything else your camera records.

Uninstalling the app removes the app's own data. Recordings already saved to your gallery stay there, because they are yours.

Permissions, and what each one is for

PermissionUsed for
CameraRecording video with the script on screen. Only while you are recording.
MicrophoneRecording audio, and voice-follow scrolling. Only while you are recording or in Voice mode.
Photos and videosSaving finished takes into your gallery, and listing them in the app afterwards.
Internet, network and Wi-Fi stateThe three optional features below, and nothing else.

The app works fully offline. If you never use the three features below, it never makes a network request.

The three times data leaves your device

1. Voice-follow scrolling. Speech recognition is performed by Android's own recognizer, not by us. Depending on your device and settings, Android may send audio to Google for processing. That is covered by Google's privacy policy, not this one. If you prefer it never to happen, do not use Voice mode — every other scroll mode is entirely offline. Many Android devices can also be set to recognize speech on-device.

2. AI script generation. Optional, and off unless you supply your own Anthropic API key. When you use it, the topic and settings you type are sent to Anthropic to generate a draft. Your key is stored in your device's encrypted keystore. We never see your key or your prompts — the request goes from your phone to Anthropic directly. Anthropic's handling of that request is covered by their privacy policy.

3. Subscriptions. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card details or your Google account. Play tells the app only whether a subscription is active.

Using a second phone as a remote is not on this list. Those two devices talk to each other directly over your own Wi-Fi network. Nothing passes through any server, ours or anyone else's.

What we collect about you

Nothing.

There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting, and no account. We do not know how many scripts you have written, what is in them, or whether you opened the app today.

Google Play collects its own aggregate statistics about installs and crashes for any app on the store. We can see those aggregate figures in Play Console. They are not linked to you individually and we cannot use them to identify you.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for us to show you, export or delete. Everything the app has is on your device and is deleted when you delete the app or the item.

To cancel a subscription, use Google Play's subscription settings — there is a link to it inside the app under Settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes on Play.
